The SooNipi Quilt Guild president challenged the membership to make a quilt – no larger than 40″ by 40″ that only used black and white (or gray) and one other color. I considered lots of options, but settled on this one. Then there was the question of which color to use….the obvious choice was red, then I thought of green, yellow … and settled on a beautiful hand dyed piece of turquoise I had in my stash. Happy with the results. Cannot wait until August when everyone’s creations are revealed. I quilted this wall hanging myself using ruler work. It posed its very own challenges, but “finished is always better than perfect!”
Pattern credit goes to Kamia Hosmer. The original pattern exceeded the size of the challenge requirements, so I had to do some math to reduce the end product – pretty happy that it worked out.
