Challenge Quilt Using 2.5″ Strips

Very excited about this quilt, which was my take on a challenge to design a quilt using 2.5″ strips of fabric. Each strip is quilted with a different free motion quilt design. It was inspired by a photo I saw on Facebook of a linen wall hanging made by Judith Poxson Fawkes.

Star Cakes Quilt

This quilt was a bit too big to do on my domestic machine, so Nancy Graham did it beautifully on her long arm. Not sure where the quilt will end up, but probably a charity quilt.

Large Block Baby Quilt

Practicing my free motion quilting with rulers and without while making baby quilts for the SooNipi Quilters Guild charity project. This one was fast and fun. I finished it while at the Great Cape Escape quilters retreat. When you do lots of quilting on busy fabrics it’s called “quilting for God”.
